There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Parent Group

You love your kids ... but parenting can be tough. Very tough. One of the most important things you can do as a parent is connect with others to help you excel in raising children. This fall, as part of Tuesday Night Life, we are starting a Parent Group to provide that forum. We'll begin with Intentional Parenting (September 12 - October 17), followed by Sticky Faith (October 24 - December 12). These video series and discussion groups will provide great tools to sharpen your parenting skills.

Location: Avon Campus. Fellowship Hall AB

Date: Tuesdays beginning September 12

Time: 6:15 p.m., beginning with "Ten Minutes with Pastor Jay"

Intentional Parenting: Raising kids in today’s culture is difficult and requires a plan. Without a plan, people usually default to quick-fix parenting. Let’s face it: It’s just easier to focus on immediate problems rather than deal with the deeper and more important ones. Surviving each day is much easier than taking the time and energy to consider how parenting actions impact a child’s future. To be an exceptional parent, you need to be an intentional parent. This five-week series will help you in that effort. Book cost: $20. (September 12 - October 17).

Sticky Faith: Most parents would give anything to anchor their children with a vibrant faith that “sticks” and continues to mature as they become adults. Despite this deep desire, research indicates that 40-50 percent of high school seniors drift from their faith after graduation. Sticky Faith is a video-based study that enables parents to instill a deep and lasting faith in their adolescents. This course presents powerful strategies and practical ideas to help parents encourage their children’s spiritual growth, enabling them to develop a faith that sticks. (October 24 - December 12)  REGISTRATION COMING SOON.
